At Christmastime, we celebrate the birth of Jesus—God’s beloved Son—born to this world in human form. We sing songs like “Joy to the World” to commemorate the incarnational origin story of our Savior. But the hope of Christmas is also about waiting and about the hope we find in the midst of our waiting. Because while we’re waiting, God is still working.
Advent invites you to slow down, to view this Christmas season through a whole new lens, and to discover a faithful God in the midst of your waiting. It prompts you to think about your own seasons of silence and realize those times are never wasted when you are waiting on God.
But even more, Advent helps you recognize that God is always with you in the waiting. I'm so glad we're on this journey together.
